STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. – One man is in custody today after home invasion in Stafford County.
Maury Edward Williams, 18, of Scotts Ford Lane in Fredericksburg, was arrested without incident at 12:43 p.m. in the area of Cardinal Forest Drive and Bellamy Lane in south Stafford County.
The arrest comes after Williams was named a suspect in a home invasion that took place this morning on nearby Patton Lane, at 4:54 a.m.
Williams was arrested without incident, but another man — Travonte Stephon Montivero, 20, of Harrogate Road in Fredericksburg, is also suspected in the crime. Both men face burglary and robbery charges, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.
Montivero is also wanted in Spostsylvania County for violating a court order, Kennedy added.
Stafford sheriff’s deputies were called to Patton Lane this morning when an occupant of the house told authorities two men broke into his home and stole cash. The victim unsuccessfully tried to chase them, said Kennedy.
The two men fled the scene in a 2006 Nissan sedan. Detectives used the license plates to establish the identity of their suspects.
