QUANTICO, Va. – The line to see Dakota Meyer started early Wednesday afternoon when the Medal of Honor recipient came to Quantico for a book signing.

Meyer’s new book, Into the Fire, hit shelves Tuesday. It details the story of the first living U.S. Marine in three decades to receive the Medal of Honor.

During an Taliban insurgent attack in 2009, Meyer disobeyed an order and came under heavy fire when he decided to mount a rescue mission for his fellow troops.

On Wednesday, Meyer signed 200 copies of his book, and then signed fliers for the event when he ran out of books.

Meyer also posed for photos with those in the audience.

The event was held at the Quantico MCX.
