PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. – The human remains found in a wooded area behind a home on Yolanda Lane will be sent to a medical examiner’s office in Manassas for examination.

With little to go on, Prince William police today described the skeletal remains as that of an adult, but it’s unclear what age or sex the body is.

The remains were found at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Police were called to the scene where they conducted an investigation that lasted until 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police officers were posted at the entrance of Yolanda Lane to patrol incoming traffic from Minnieville Road and nearby Va. 234. The body was found a housing development surrounded by trees.
