STAFFORD, Va. – A man from Spotsylvania County was taken to a hospital after his truck crashed and closed two lanes of Interstate 95 in Stafford.

The crash happened at mile post 139, just before Courthouse Road, about 4:30 a.m. when a Ford F-350 pick-up ran off the road, struck a guard rail and overturned.

Virginia State Police Sgt. Les Tyler said no charges have been filed but the crash is still under investigation.

Emergency crews had to pull the victim from the wreckage.

Two lanes of I-95 were closed for about an hour for the crash. That snarled traffic and produced a seven-mile backup on the highway.

The crash was investigated by Trooper E.S. Frye, and the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
