UPDATE WEDNESDAY MORNING

From the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office :

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reports that the problems with the non-emergency number (540-658-440) that citizens in the southern part of the county were experiencing yesterday afternoon and night when trying to reach the Emergency Communications Center was corrected early this morning. The non-emergency number, 540-658-4400 is now in working order.

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. – Problems with the phone system are being reported in the southern portion of Stafford County. A press release from the county’s sheriff’s office has more info:

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reports that citizens calling into the non-emergency number 540-658-4400 will not be able to hear a response from the call taker when they call in.

What is this?

The Emergency Communication Center can hear the person calling in but the individual calling in cannot hear the response from the Emergency Communication dispatcher.

We have been notified that this is only affecting the southern part of Stafford County Citizens will find that 9-1-1 is still working as always. The problem is being worked on.
