WOODBRIDGE, Va. — The Southbridge community is missing a monument sign after a car plowed through a brick wall Saturday.
Police were called at 11:27 p.m. Saturday to the intersection of River Heritage and River Ridge boulevards in the Southbridge area of Woodbridge after a driver ignored a stop sign and collided with another car resulting in a T-bone collision. The striking vehicle ran off the road and struck a brick wall outside the Southbridge Community Center, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
The driver was charged with reckless driving and no injuries were reported.
The all-brick wall, a monument sign for the community center, is valued at $10,000. Southbridge Community Association President Jim Riley said the community is working with the police department to reevaluate their damage estimate for the sign, which he said was noted as as $500.
