NORTH STAFFORD, Va. – Five police officers from Aquia Harbour were resworn in as law enforcement officers in Stafford County.

While police officers in Virginia are required to be resworn in every four years, it’s a milestone for the Aquia Harbour Police Department since many officers usually do not stay with the force for long.

“The Harbour used to be a training ground for bigger agencies, but changes on the priority of the police department by harbour management and the Board of Directors have created a stable work force,” said Aquia Harbour Police Chief Trish Harmon.

The department polices the gated community of Aquia Harbour and  is a state-certified agency. The agency employs seven sworn police officers and eight security guards, according to the agency’s website.
