Twin Homicide Suspects Nabbed in Stafford

NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — Two men wanted in a homicide in Florida were captured today on Interstate 95 in North Stafford.

Virginia State Police troopers received a “be on the lookout” alert from police in Palm Bay, Fla. warning of two men in a white SUV headed north on I-95. Those men are suspected of shooting and killing 26-year-old Raymond Torres, who was shot Wednesday afternoon while standing in his driveway at his home in Palm Bay.

described SUV headed north at mile post 145 on I-95, just south of Quantico, and stopped it, said Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller.

Two males were found inside the vehicle and were arrested, and both are jailed at the Rappahannock Regional Jail and are awaiting extradition back to the Florida.

The suspects, Octavius Toppin, 34, and Obadiah Toppin, 34, are twin brothers who face murders charges in Florida, according to Florida police. 

Police in Florida did not say what prompted the shooting or where the twin brothers were traveling to.
