Prince William County, Va. –– A Prince William County school bus driver has resigned after she was charged with assaulting two students.

Police say the 10 and 12-year-old boys were assaulted at 12:06 p.m. Friday while they were on the bus parked at Independent Hill School at 14800 Joplin Road, police said.

The driver resigned after four years on the job, said Prince William County Public Schools spokesman Ken Blackstone.

School officials would not comment on the extent of the children’s injuries because of privacy concerns.  Police say the children did not suffer any injuries.

Minnie Pearl McBride, 29, of Woodbridge, is charged with two counts of assault and battery, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

Her court date was not released.

Pearl is the fifth Prince William schools employee to faces charges since April.

One week ago, a 13-year-old girl told police a teacher at Woodbridge Middle School inappropriately touched her. The teacher now faces charges.
