New Features for Stafford’s New Website

Stafford, Va. –– Its web address may still be convoluted and difficult to remember, but Stafford has launched the first phase of what it hopes will be a better, easier to use website.

The new site aims to make information about county services, bill payments, public notices, and news about videos about the county easier for users to access with a newly improved search engine.

“The main objective for the completely renovated site is to provide information on the County’s services in a more user-friendly manner,” said County Administrator Anthony Romanello in a press release.

The URL to the site has not changed (it’s still www.co.Stafford.va.us) and there is no word if it will change, though a name like staffordcounty.com might be a little easier to remember. Oh wait, that name is already taken.

On the upside, visitors to the site now can see more graphics and an events calendar.

New to the site will be an interactive mapping service where users will be able to lookup information about available properties in Stafford County. It will showcase land records dating back to 1937, and users will be able to use free, interactive maps that can be saved onto your computer.

The new site was developed over the course of several months with a group of area residents and a private web design firm.

The fully redone version of the site is expected to launch in July.
