Stolen Laptop Recovered

North Stafford, Va. –– Sheriff’s deputies said the missing laptop was found in the truck underneath a coat.

Authorities at 8 p.m. Tuesday were called to Walmart on Garrisonville Road (Va. 610) in North Stafford for a report of a burglary.

A manager at the store told sheriff’s deputies two men had taken a laptop from the store, so deputies put a look out for the men.

But it didn’t take long for deputies to make an arrest.

A deputy at the nearby Doc Stone shopping plaza heard the lookout for the two men who were said to be in a white pickup.

The deputy saw one and moved in to investigate, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

The truck began to drive away, but other responding deputies boxed the truck in stopping it from fleeing.

They searched the vehicle and inside was two men and the missing laptop, said Kennedy.

Bryan G. Hinkley, 29, was searched and is charged with grand larceny as well as drug possession charges, said Kennedy.

The second man, 31-year-old Marvin Horton, of Spotsylvania County, is also charged with grand larceny.
