Arrest made in GNC robbery
North Stafford, Va. –– The man suspected of robbing at GNC store in North Stafford has been arrested in West Virginia.
Investigators obtained information that their suspect was in the Charles Town, WVa. area, then obtained arrest warrants and then found him at a restaurant there.
The suspect was a customer at the restaurant and was arrested at 1 a.m. Saturday by West Virginia State Police, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.
The arrest stems from the armed robbery of a GNC Services store on Mine Road on Feb. 8.
During the robbery, a man walked into the store, pointed a handgun and then forced an employee and a customer to get on the ground and threatened to shoot them, said Kennedy.
The man made off with an undisclosed sum of cash.
Jerry Dale Cook, 23, of 22 Paradise Court in Stafford is charged with armed robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and with two counts of abduction.
He is in police custody awaiting extradition back to Stafford County.
Officials say the investigation is still ongoing.
